Telephone Wires

Telephone Wires

The telephone cables are used to connect the telephone equipment. The several pairs of insulated copper wires with a diameter ranging from 0.3 to 0.9 and usually twisted into two or four pairs. There are different types of cables that are available in Suzlon Cables and Wires. Every wire has a diverse purpose in size, performance and structure.

Here are types of telephone cables that people use for their telephone equipment:

  • Twisted pair cable
  • These types of wires contain a pair of copper wires which are usually colour coded are twisted around each other. There are two types of twisted cables. 1) UTP- Unshielded twisted pair (UTP) does not rely on the physical shield just to block any sort of connectivity issue. 2) STP- Shielded twisted pair blocks external interference in the foil.

  • Coaxial Cables
  • The common telephone cable has one physical channel which is insulated in the layer which is woven in the copper. The coaxial cables may come in different sizes and various performances with power-handling capabilities.

  • Fibre Optic Cable
  • The contemporary invention in the telephone cables, the fibre optic cable transfers the data with light rather than relying on electricity. There are two types of fibre optic cable available: - 1) Single-Mode Fiber Optic Cable: The cable has a small core that allows only one mode of light to enter at a given time. 2) Multimode Fiber Optic Cable: The cable allows more modes of light to enter at a given period, this works in LAN and security systems.

  • Jelly-filled telecom cable
  • This cable is filled with petroleum jelly which is resilient to the water, it is an underground cable that uses the polythene material as insulators and conductors.

  • Ribbon Cable
  • These cables are used in interconnected network devices and are also known as flat-twin cables or multi-wire planar cables.
